Securitas strengthens its position in Spain Securitas has today, with effect from June 30th, 1999, acquired the Spanish guarding company Seguridad 7. With the acquisition, Securitas strengthens its position as one of the leading security companies in Spain. The forecasted sales for Seguridad 7 during1999 amounts to MSEK 170 and the number of employees are 1,000 persons. The company runs a profitable guarding activity, which represents the main part of the business. Seguridad 7 operates mainly in the Canary Islands. The acquisition will strengthen Securitas' position in the region. The acquisition price amounts to MSEK 64, and the Group's goodwill will increase by MSEK 57. Including acquisition costs, the acquisition will contribute positively to the Group's results in 1999. After the acquisition, sales in Securitas' Spanish operations will amount to approximately MSEK 1,800 per year. - Seguridad 7 complements the Spanish operations well and will contribute to a good growth and earnings performance for Securitas, says Thomas Berglund, Securitas' President and CEO.
