APPOINTMENT
- Global engineering group SEGULA Technologies is starting a new chapter in its history in Sweden: the company is embarking on an ambitious transformation focused on growing its project-based business, diversifying its operations and doubling its workforce over the next three years.
- To achieve this bold renewal, SEGULA Sweden has just appointed a new Executive Director and set up an Advisory Committee.
Lennart Hasselqvist has just been appointed to the position of Managing Director of SEGULA Technologies Sweden. In a challenging environment, his main responsibilities in this new role will be to develop the Group’s activities on the Swedish market by transforming its business model and by diversifying its activity sectors, while doubling the workforce over the next three years.
Lennart Hasselqvist brings over 30 years of extensive experience in the automotive and engineering industries. A graduate of University West, he held several leadership roles in advanced engineering and research and development at Saab Automobile Powertrain, General Motors Powertrain Europe, AAM, and more recently at AFRY.
“I’m thrilled to join SEGULA Technologies at such a transformative time,” says Lennart Hasselqvist. “We plan to develop more delivery-based solutions in our own offices, diversify our portfolio and enhance the value of our offers. By building on our strengths in the automotive industry, we aim to attract local players from the energy, defence, and rail sectors. There are untapped synergies between these industries, and SEGULA Sweden is well-positioned to leverage them.”
To carry out its mission, Lennart will benefit from the Group's capabilities. With 15,000 employees and a global footprint across more than 30 countries in the world, SEGULA Technologies is a well-established engineering group that provides technological solutions to major industrial players in different sectors like automotive, rail, energy, aerospace, naval, defence…
In Sweden, SEGULA Technologies is mostly involved in the automotive and heavy vehicle sectors, supporting national and international OEMs in their transition to electric vehicles with experts in vehicle design, software and electric/electronic embedded systems, battery pack integration and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). As part of its growth strategy, SEGULA Technologies Sweden aims to extend its services to the energy, rail, and defence industries, capitalising on shared technological opportunities.
Together with its subsidiary Technicon Design, SEGULA Technologies Sweden currently has nearly 200 employees attached to two offices in Gothenburg and Stockholm and plans to recruit 50 engineers in Sweden by the end of the year, mostly specialised in embedded software, mechanical engineering and IT.
SEGULA Technologies Sweden is also launching an advisory board to provide guidance on its strategic decisions. The first members of the advisory board will be announced in the coming weeks.
