Selvaag Bolig has acquired a property from Järfälla local authority in Stockholm, and intends to build 250 Pluss homes in Barkarbystaden.

Sales in this project are expected to start as early as 2022, and the company now has some 600 homes under development in the Swedish capital.

“We have successfully become established in Stockholm,” says CEO Sverre Molvik. “This is our third land acquisition in short order, and we can start sales here as early as next year.

“We look forward to further growth in Stockholm, which is a natural expansion area for us. Barkarbystaden is particularly interesting because this one of the city’s largest transformation areas with metro station, 18 000 homes and 10 000 jobs. We’re looking forward to offering Pluss homes there.”

The trademarked Selvaag Pluss concept offers lifestyle homes for people of all ages and circumstances, where every resident has access to a service area with shared facilities.

These include a staffed reception, well-equipped gym, party room, meeting room and lounge. Hosts are also employed to offer a number of services, and the concept aims to make daily life simpler for residents.

Selvaag already operates three Pluss projects in Stockholm, at Sädesärlan, Svea Fanfar and Svea Serenad.

The project in Barkarbystaden is being designed in cooperation with architects Pörner+Pettersson.
