Petter Hepsø confirms Norwegian figurative artThe jury has chosen five sculptors, each winning one scene in the second round of the international sculpture competition announced in 2004. In this round 77 artists from 18 countries have rivaled to win the possibility to erect their statue in the suite. Hepsø, best known for his sculpture ”Frosken” (The Frog) exhibited at the Norwegian National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design is the only Norwegian winner. 13 international artists have been chosen to participate in Phase II of the ”Peer Gynt” competition

This international competition, expected to run for several years, has attracted 52 international artists from 10 countries to submit more than 100 sketches depicting scenes from the play “Peer Gynt”. Moving on to Phase II, the Jury has selected 13 artists from 6 countries to submit models of their sketches. The artists come from Norway, USA, Germany, Sweden and Spain. Peer Gynt competition a huge success

The closing date for entries to Selvaag Gruppen’s “Peer Gynt” sculpture competition was 1st March. 52 sculptors from 10 countries have presented more than 100 sketches for works inspired by the Henrik Ibsen’s play “Peer Gynt”. The competition jury will now select the sculptors who will be invited to send in a model of their work.By the end of April, the jury will decide which sculptors will be invited to go on to the next phase of the competition.
