Semcon and MTV Spider in strategic partnership In Semcon's development of investment in interactive information, the need for a creative and productive working partner has arisen. For this reason Semcon and MTV Spider have entered into a long-term strategic partnership concerning interactive productions. MTV Spider's ability to integrate long-term communication strategies with creative solutions within IT and content production is an excellent complement to Semcon's interactive production group. Semcon has moreover wide knowledge within technical information, platform development and a wide network of contacts within Swedish commerce. The first joint project for Volvo Car Corporation Group has already been embarked upon, where MTV Spider is employing ten staff full time. More products of the same genre are being projected and developed at the same time. Emma Hjälmås is leading Semcon's project work, with Mats Fennvik in the same role for MTV Spider. Both Semcon and MTV Spider see great potential in creatively packaged, interactive technical information. Today most products are put out on CD or DVD, but the intention is for the same platforms to be used for communication over the Internet and Intranet. The expansion of broad band and the spread of WAP/GPRS technology is likely to drastically increase demand for these products. "This is an example of a strategic alliance so as to be able to take on major projects for large companies. Semcon has long been a client of MTV Spider as regards communications and moving pictures. Working together within larger areas is a natural step, as both parties have great respect for each other's competence," says Olle Langenius, MD of MTV Production AB.
