Semcon is underpinning its presence in Germany by cooperating with the German company ESG Elektroniksystem- und Logistik-GmbH. Semcon’s Informatic business area and ESG will work closely in a global project for General Motors and supply products and services for aftermarket information.

General Motors and other auto manufacturers want, to a greater extent, to use fewer suppliers of aftermarket information for all their markets and platforms. “This means that we must be where our customers’ development centres are and that we have the capacity to handle the production volumes that producing aftermarket information to entire vehicle platforms involves,” says Johan Ekener, vice president, Semcon Informatic. Therefore Semcon and ESG cooperate in a project for GME. The partnership is a consortium split 50/50 between Semcon and ESG. “This project-specific partnership gives us the conditions to provide General Motors with competitive solutions from a pan-European perspective,” says Wolfgang Sczygiol, Head of ESG Automotive.
