Semcon expanding in Life Science
Semcon has today signed an agreement with Stricent AB to take over the company’s consultancy activities. The agreement means that 8 people will join Semcon’s pharmaceutical and med-tech product development. This agreement strengthens Semcon’s position in the field of Life Science
The staff at Stricent who will transfer to Semcon currently work mainly with clinical development of pharmaceuticals and med-tech products. The acquisition complements Semcon’s current offer to the pharmaceutical/bio-tech and med-tech industries.
“The agreement is in line with our strategy of growing in the life science sector and we see major potential for growth in this area,” says Cecilia Norberg, divisional manger at Medical Life Science.
“Our offer helps companies fill the gap that often exists between early stage research and clinical development, and we now expand our expertise in carrying out clinical trials. Our advantage is that we work in multidisciplinary teams with solid know-how and extensive experience. We help customers with professional advice, project management and carrying out early-stage development, through to pre-clinical and clinical development,” says Katarina Beierlein, manager at Semcon Drug Development Consulting.
“We’re extremely pleased with this agreement,” says Jörgen Svanlind, chairman and main owner of Stricent. “These consultancy teams are experts with extensive experience of pharmaceutical development and we’re pleased that our activities can continue developing in a larger organization,” he continues.
