Semcon has signes an agreement for IT competence training worth SEK 6.3 million Semcon Education AB has once again been entrusted with the task of satisfying market needs for systems developers in Stockholm. During 1999, Semcon Education AB, having been commissioned by the Stockholm County Labour Board, will be laying on three courses to train participants as systems developers. The commission is worth SEK 6.3 million. The commission is based on successful projects previously carried out. During 1998 four similar careers training courses were put on, with very good results, and 90% of the participants found a job within three months of completing the course. The aim of the course, which lasts for 40 weeks, is to qualify participants as MCSDs (Microsoft Certified Solution Developer). In addition to technical knowledge, emphasis is also placed on the importance of social skills, where participants are trained in e.g. project methods, consultancy roles, personal presentation techniques, etc. The course concludes with practical work with companies. "Semcon has wide experience of just this type of complete and specialised career-orientated courses for adults," says Björn Eichmüller, Managing Director of Semcon Education AB. We are specialists in the training of system developers and are amongst the very biggest in the country, providing around 800 fully qualified system developers per year."
