Semcon's partnership with ZoomON creates new opportunities for PDM Semcon recently signed a partnership agreement with the expanding international company ZoomON. The agreement means that Semcon can further improve the user-friendliness and efficiency of its PDM-solutions for existing and new customers by using ZoomON's revolutionary Java-based technology. By integrating ZoomON's Java-based software, Semcon can provide a unique opportunity for all PDM-users via the Internet/Intranet or Java's own customers to gain access to all types of information concerning the product during the development process. Irrespective of whether the information is in the form of articles, article structures or CAD drawings. This also means that all those involved in the project, but who are not for example working directly on the design, can easily access information without having to install the CAD application. This makes e.g. virtual project groups possible and totally paper-free authorisation procedures. The integration of PDM solutions with web technology and Java means a great saving in terms of cost and time, and therefore significantly more efficient product development for customers.
