Semcon strengthens positions in engines and transmissions with orders worth EUR 8,7 million
Semcon is continuing to expand in the fields of engines and transmissions with another order from a German automotive manufacturer. The project will start immediately and run until 2012, with an option to extend.
The project involves optimizing engines for various car models and will be mainly carried out by Semcon’s Swedish organization and its partners in Sweden.
“Future demands to cut CO2 emissions means that all auto manufacturers are focusing on development in this area. This order will strengthen our position in one of our focus areas,” says Stefan Ohlsson, business area manager Automotive R&D.
Semcon has built up a lot of expertise in engines and transmission and has now almost 400 people around the world committed to this sector. Semcon has also received orders earlier during the year, from another German auto manufacturer worth around SEK 55 million. These projects will run for three years and involve developing cooling circuits for the auto manufacturers’ various engine alternatives on a new global platform and will be carried out by the German organization.
