Semcon to perform extensive durability testing

Report this content

Semcon Test Center in Göteborg will perform a large scale durability test on a rear chassis installation on a heavy vehicle for a Swedish heavy vehicle development company. Semcon will design and build the test rig and perform durability testing of the rear axle installation including chassis frame, axle, suspension, hub and brakes. The test will be divided in three different load cases over a four month period. The set up includes up to six hydraulic actuators and the test will be used to verify the simulation model results. The test is a sequel from similar tests on a front chassis assembly made earlier this year. Semcon has extensive test operations around the world with test laboratories in Sweden and Germany, test track facilities in south of Spain and winter testing in the cold zone area in northern Sweden. Semcon Test Center has since 1996 been a major test partner in durability, fatigue, vibration, climate and functional testing for customers in many industries and of many products such as vehicles, offshore platform structures, forest harvester equipment, mobile phones, solar panels, wind power plants, tooth implants, sailing and motor yacht components and lightweight composite structures.
