Sensys Gatso Group, a global leader in traffic safety solutions, has received a TRaaS contract extension for the operation and maintenance of the Dutch fixed systems for speed and red-light enforcement which is part of the EG100 contract. The contract extension has a value of EUR 1 million, corresponding to approximately SEK 10 million, over a two year period.

The fixed systems were bought by the Dutch Public Prosecution Service in 2012 as a part of the EG100 framework contract. It has been in operation since 2012 whereby Sensys Gatso is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the system. The operations team monitors the enforcement systems on a daily basis and through preventative maintenance the systems are being maintained, ensuring high and reliable performance.

This TRaaS contract for operation and maintenance is a contract with fixed quarterly income to deliver high quality services within defined scope and operational metrics, such as uptime performance, auto ratio and error ratio. Historically, Sensys Gatso has outperformed the operational metrics required by the customer. Sensys Gatso has achieved an average system uptime performance of more than 99%.The auto ratio ensures that infractions can be automatically processed by the Central Judicial Collection Agency (CJIB). To achieve a high level of integrity and to ensure that infractions are correct, Sensys Gatso needs to operate within a very low error rate.

The extension has been granted to get a smooth transition from the existing automated traffic enforcement infrastructure to new fixed speed and red-light enforcement systems that will be rolled out under the procurement contract signed and announced on 13 April 2022. It is expected that the current infrastructure will be replaced during 2023 and 2024, with the first systems becoming operational in Q1 2023. This contract extension will phase out during these years.

Sensys Gatso’s proven technology provides a reliable system to measure speed. Therefore it greatly influences driving behavior and has a direct impact on road safety.

“We are pleased that the Public Prosecution Service is satisfied with the performance of our speed and red light systems and that we could extend the current TRaaS contract due to the long lasting technical and economical lifetime of the provided technology and services. We have a strong partnership with  the Dutch Public Prosecution Service and we are looking forward to working with them in the future”, says Niki Gatsonides, Managing Director, Sensys Gatso Netherlands.
