Sensys Gatso receives red light TRaaS contract with Bristol Township, PA, worth SEK 18 million
Sensys Gatso Group, a global leader in traffic safety solutions, through its subsidiary, Sensys Gatso USA, has executed a seven-year base-term automated red light enforcement contract with the Township of Bristol, Pennsylvania.
The contract is estimated to be worth up to $1.6 million (USD) corresponding to appr. SEK 18 million and is anticipated to begin in late spring of 2025.
“The bottom line is, if people didn’t speed, we wouldn’t be having this conversation”, said Bristol Council President Craig Bowen. “I’m not in for bureaucracy, but we have to do something with these red lights on Route 13. I’ve witnessed the red light running in our town, the light is red, and cars are still flying through, its brutal, we must do something. PennDOT came in years ago, thinking shrinking the lanes down from 4 lanes to 2 lanes and adding cross walks would slow traffic down, but the death toll is still high”, Bowen added.
Bristol Township joins Abbington, Bensalem, Warrington and Montgomery Townships to partner with Sensys Gatso to address their traffic safety needs.
“We look forward to helping Bristol Township address their traffic safety concerns”, said Sensys Gatso USA President and Managing Director, Bill Braden. I appreciate the confidence that the Township has expressed in Sensys Gatso through our selection. Our team is ready to work with them to implement their specifically designed automated traffic safety program and reduce red light running and collisions in the community.”
