Hotel lease agreement worth SEK 800 million now in place for Karlatornet

The lease agreement is now ready for the upcoming hotel in Karlatornet. The 20-year contract is worth SEK 40 million per year. 

In July this year, Nordic Choice Hotels and Karlastaden Utveckling AB, the project company in which Serneke owns 50 percent, signed a letter of intent for Petter Stordalen’s Group to become the hotel operator in Karlatornet. The lease agreement for the upcoming hotel is now in place, and Ola Serneke, Managing Director and CEO of the Serneke Group, is pleased with the collaboration with Nordic Choice Hotels.

“It is fantastic that the lease agreement with Nordic Choice Hotels is now in place. Together with them, we will create an unforgettable hotel experience in a unique building,” he says.

The hotel will be operated under the Clarion Hotel brand and, in addition to around 300 rooms, will include conference facilities, restaurants and bars as well as spa and gym facilities. The hotel will be located in the podium building belonging to Karlatornet and on the 58th floor of the tower. The hotel’s surface area is approximately 17,500 square meters.

Karlatornet is scheduled for completion in 2021 and is the first building to be built in the new Karlastaden district, which comprises eight blocks with approximately 2,000 residences, offices and commercial premises.

Karlastaden Utveckling AB is the project company, jointly owned by Serneke Group AB and NREP, which will develop the new district of residential and commercial properties.
