Serneke civil engineering has been awarded a contract by the Swedish Transport Administration to perform road work on Road 914 in Tanum Municipality. The order value is about SEK 24 million.

Road 914 between Kamstorp and Tanum has for a long time had bearing capacity problems. The road will now be stabilized on a section of around three kilometers with lime cement pillars among other measures. A pipe bridge will also be built and the road will be repaved and new lines will be painted.

“Road 914 is well used by the local population as a transport route, especially in the summer to avoid the traffic in the tourist towns along the coast. This is why good bearing capacity is important on this road for everyone who lives in the area. The project includes multiple challenges, but we are looking forward to getting started and delivering a good end product to the Swedish Transport Administration and all of the road users,” said Björn Ekelund, Construction Manager at Serneke.

“The project objective is to ensure full bearing capacity for the road on the section concerned and to improve the situation during high water levels and floods from the Broälven River. This is a very exciting project where the Swedish Transport Administration hopes to have a good cooperation with Serneke and the others involved for a good result,” said Saeid Azmoudeh, Project Manager at the Swedish Transport Administration.

Construction will begin in October, with a final inspection scheduled for May 2017.
