Serneke secures further construction Halmstad
Serneke Construction is to construct 183 apartments in the Järnmalmen block in Nissastrand, Halmstad. Today, a contract was signed with Halmstads Fastighets AB (HFAB) for a turnkey contract valued at around SEK 240 million.
The Järnmalmen block is the last quarter to be completed in the Nissastrand area of Halmstad. Of the 183 rental apartments that Serneke will construct in the Järnmalmen block, some will function as accommodation for seniors. In addition to the apartments, an underground garage will also be built.
“It pleases me greatly that the cooperation between HFAB and Serneke continues to evolve. Continuity is important in delivering cost-effective housing to the public sector. We see this agreement as a further confirmation that our approach is appreciated and is a success factor,” says Daniel Åstenius, CEO of Serneke Construction.
“There is a considerable housing shortage in Halmstad and new production is important for increasing the supply of apartments, thus contributing to the continued growth of the city,” says Marie Thelander Dellhag, CEO of Halmstads Fastighets AB.
Planning of the Järnmalmen block will commence in the autumn and construction is scheduled to begin the first quarter of 2018, provided that residential construction permits are granted. The Järnmalmen block is scheduled for completion in 2020.
Serneke has already commenced two additional housing projects in Halmstad, 72 rental apartments in the Krusbäret block and 179 rental apartments in the Borgen block, the latter of which is also a project for HFAB.
The order value of approximately SEK 240 million is included in order bookings for the fourth quarter of 2017.
