ServiceMaster enlists former Minot resident to help lead disaster restoration efforts in the area
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (June 25, 2011) – ServiceMaster Clean announced today that it has engaged Senior Training Manager, Jerry Giesinger, to help oversee recovery efforts in Minot. The company’s commercial large-loss, catastrophic disaster restoration arm, ServiceMaster Recovery Management (SRM), also has mobilized to begin the process of disaster mitigation, management and restoration for large commercial businesses in Minot and the surrounding region.
SRM specializes in minimizing business interruption in disaster-impacted areas so that companies may rapidly return to pre-loss conditions. About 12,000 residents have evacuated their homes according to the Minot Fire Department, as water has been overtopping the city’s dikes since Wednesday, which are leaking in some places.
Giesinger, a native North Dakotan, brings nearly 30 years in the disaster restoration to the table and owned ServiceMaster of Minot from 1982 through 1995. He is a certified IICRC Instructor for WRT (Water Restoration Technician), FSRT (Fire and Smoke Restoration Technician) and OCT (Odor Control Technician). Giesinger also serves as an Assistant ASD (Applied Structural Technician) at the ServiceMaster Clean Training Center in Memphis.
“Every disaster is different,” said Giesinger. “And this is no exception. Our job is to manage and mobilize the recovery effort so that companies and their employees can get back to conducting business and help get their communities back on their feet.”
With management experience in 27 different countries on significant disasters, including clean-up after Hurricane Katrina and the Pentagon after September 11, 2001, SRM is a recognized leader in large commercial disaster recovery efforts.
“This event touches ServiceMaster both professionally and personally, as ServiceMaster of Minot is now operated by David Burgess,” said Bobby Lewis, vice president commercial disaster restoration operations and account management for ServiceMaster. “Our prayers and thoughts are with the community, and we are certain Jerry’s familiarity and passion for the region is going to help us do our best work for the citizens of Minot.”
