Setra, Sweden’s largest wood products company, is changing its overall organisation with effect from 1 June. The intention is to create a coherent market and customer support organisation for Setra’s entire wood products business and to increase the focus on business development, R&D and environmental aspects. Building Systems will become a separate area of responsibility at the same time.

“The changes we are now making represent a continuation of the customer-oriented process we started in 2005,” says Kent Torwald, President and CEO of Setra. “Last year we collected and integrated our sawmills and processing into a joint production organisation. The raw material organisation was strengthened and became a separate area of responsibility. As a consequence of Setra’s strategic direction towards value-added processing, we are now increasing our focus on markets, business development and building systems.”

Urban Torstensson will be the new Marketing Director, with overall responsibility for Setra’s entire market and customer support organisation. Setra previously had two Marketing Directors, one for the industrial segments and one for the building materials trade. Urban Torstensson, who has worked within the Group since 1995, is currently sales manager for the Distributors and Planing Mills customer segment. In his new role he will be a member of Setra’s Group Management.

Mikael Eliasson, who is currently Marketing Director for the industrial segments, will become Development Director responsible for research and development, new markets and sustainable development. Mikael Eliasson will also head the Building Systems unit, which includes Långshytte Glulam and the Trälyftet building system.

Setra’s Group Management with effect from 1 June: Kent Torwald (President and CEO), Stefan Lundin (CFO and head of IT), Pia Ekedahl (Corporate Communications and HR), Mikael Eliasson (development, R&D, sustainable development and building systems), Urban Torstensson (marketing), Jerker Nyström (production) and Tor Marntell (raw materials).
