Setra’s subsidiary Plusshus has signed two new orders for a total of SEK 55 million. The contacts relate to a new terraced housing development in Stockholm and a second phase of Trälyftet apartments in Knivsta.

“This will be a good start for our business in 2014 and confirms that interest in industrial-scale and climate-smart wood construction continues to grow,” says Nils Clausén, CEO of Setra’s subsidiary Plusshus.

The two new orders, worth a total of SEK 55 million, relate to 19 terraced houses in a new housing area in Stockholm as well as phase two of low-energy apartments in the Sågen district in central Knivsta. The homes in Knivsta are being built using Trälyftet, Setra’s patented building system for multi-storey buildings with modules in solid wood, and comprise two buildings with a total of 40 apartments.

Both projects will be manufactured on a industrial scale at the Plusshus factories in Skellefteå and Kristinehamn and delivered to the building sites as modules ready for assembly. Production will start at the end of the year and assembly is planned to start during the first quarter of 2014.

Plusshus’s business mission is to offer customised and cost-effective housing units made of wood with a high prefabrication level. Customers include commercial property developers and contractors primarily in Sweden and Norway. Manufacturing takes place at two factories in Kristinehamn and Skellefteå, Sweden.

Plusshus is part of Setra Group.
