Plusshus, a Setra subsidiary, has been named Growth Company of the Year in Skellefteå 2008 by the accounting and consulting firm Deloitte.

The criteria to be nominated as a winning candidate in the competition include demonstrating annual average growth of at least 25% and net sales of at least SEK 10 million. The company must also have at least ten employees and an operation that is profitable and growing organically.

In explaining its decision, Deloitte writes, among other things, that Plusshus has experienced exceptional growth over the past financial year in the range of 50% and is expected to report net sales of around SEK 150 million for the 2007 financial year. This growth has been accompanied by increasing profitability despite the company’s significant investments in production capacity.

“This is a great honour,” says Setra Plusshus Managing Director Ulf Haglind. “Not only for us but for all of our employees who have helped us on this journey.”

Plusshus targets the project market for homes, offices and other special projects with high standards and expectations with respect to appearance and flexibility. The customers are entrepreneurs and building contractors who utilise and construct homes from wood.

Setra increased its ownership of Plusshus to 51% at the beginning of the year and the subsidiary, which has production facilities in Kristinehamn and Arvidsjaur, is now an important component in Setra’s focus on industrial production of multi-storey buildings made from wood. Plusshus’ head office is in Skellefteå. The company has a total of around 90 employees.
