Setra, Sweden’s largest wood products company, plans to create an integrated customer support function in Gävle for the company’s wood business. By concentrating customer support to a single location, the function will be stronger, communication will improve and work will become more efficient.

“The overall purpose of this proposal is to increase business and profitability orientation and create an organisation that meet the needs of customers and the market in the best possible way,” says Kent Torwald, President and CEO of Setra.

Briefly the proposal involves the creation of a joint customer support organisation for Setra’s entire wood business. The present customer support units will be integrated and co-located to Gävle in joint premises.

“Placing the customer support function in a single location will make it easier to further develop joint working routines and strengthen employee skills,” says Pontus Friberg, Customer Support Manager.

Gävle has a geographically strategic location in Setra’s operations. Setra’s production and sales management are concentrated here and, since autumn 2006, Setra’s customer support for building materials trade customers has been centralised to Gävle.

The proposal will affect some 20 people, primarily in Piteå and Hasselfors. Information has been provided under the Co-Determination Act and negotiations will start shortly.
