Company Announcement No. 10 - 2020
Copenhagen, August 25th, 2020

This announcement is a summary and should be read in conjunction with Shape Robotics’ Interim Report for 1H, 2020 published on 25th of August 2020. The report for 1H 2020 will be available on the company’s website and on this link.

Business highlights in 1H, 2020
The results from the first half year of 2020, are in line with the expectations communicated in the prospectus of 3rd of June 2020 for the initial public offering.

  • Developed a new telepresence robotic product for both educational institutions and consumers.
  • Growing sales in June 2020, with the highest amount of confirmed sales orders in 2020, despite lockdowns. Most of the orders confirmed are shipped and invoiced in Q3, and are not detectable in the 1H report.
  • The initial public offering was heavily oversubscribed.

Financial highlights in 1H, 2020
The financial results show a trend towards more sales outside Denmark, and an improved gross margin on the robot products.

  • Revenue for 1H 2020 is at the same level as 1H 2019, -4% to TDKK 2,994 (TDKK 3,117)
  • Gross Operating Profit (sales less cost of materials) improved to TDKK 1,419 (TDKK 1,210)
  • Gross Operating Profit in percentage is improved to 47% (39%)

“We are satisfied with the performance of the Company during the first half of 2020. The COVID-19 crisis closed educational institutions on a global scale and temporarily reduced their ability to deliver hands-on robotics education to their students. Considering this difficult situation, it is very positive that the Company has been able to achieve the same turnover for the period as it did in 2019, increased its gross profit and introduced a new high-potential product to the market”. says CEO, David Johan Christensen.

Full year outlook
The Company maintains the expectations, communicated in the prospectus, for the fiscal year of 2020, with an expected revenue of 7,5 - 8,5 MDKK.
For the rest of this year – as a result of the IPO proceedings – the Company will also focus on the hiring of key sales and marketing personnel; scale-up the onboarding of new resellers in key growth markets, as well as maintain the existing sales network.
