Shape Robotics held a live Q&A Session giving updates on the business, including reactions to recent press coverage

Shape Robotics’ CEO held on 27 June 2024 a live Q&A Session giving updates on the business, including reactions to recent press coverage.

As previously communicated to the investors, Shape Robotics has organized a live Q&A session for the investors community in order to offer updates regarding the business operations. This would be a first event in a series of events to be organized in the future for the investors community.

During the 1 hour live session, Mark Abraham, CEO, responded to several questions received from shareholders and also reacted to recent press articles concerning the company. Summarizing the main ideas, it has been communicated that:

  • the purpose of the Q&A events is to talk about the state of the business, even outside normal communication windows so to be more closer to our shareholders and offer increased transparency on our operations;
  • adjustments to guidance, if any, will be announced as required by the applicable rules; the purpose of these Q&A sessions is transparency and sharing state of business, following up on the Company announcements we have released before;
  • the market price is what it is, and price is determined on the basis of supply and demand; our job is to run the business and bring value to shareholders through our results, visible in the financial reports. We do not comment on the shares trade price;
  • management is not closely monitoring the market price, that is something the shareholders do; we as management concentrate our focus on operations and securing transparency to the market enabling it to trade on a “fully disclosed” basis and bringing value to our shareholders;
  • we do not agree with recent press articles describing our business model as facing extreme risks regarding payment terms; company is turning cash flow positive due to the fact that we started implementing a supply chain financing facility that we received from our banking partner, BRD - Societe Generale;
  • we have clear strategy to consolidate our positions through clear distribution network; therefore, we have carefully selected a tier one distributor and accessed tier two resellers;
  • this business model is our strength because it offers a very clear, controllable and secure method;
  • we understand the payment cycles and work in securing payment mechanism to mitigate large gaps; the authorities, in Romania are trying to finalize the implementation of the project in as fast as possible and we are prepared to support;
  • we have around 600 laboratories that are in, process of, installation; that means that the schedule is well underway and we are progressing on this trend;
  • we have managed also to integrate fully our subsidiary in Poland, and that's already bringing good results in the market and also optimizing our margins;
  • our company has a very clear medium to long term plan, which is, a plan that is also in line with the policies announced by the European Commission and the European Union related to the educational sector;
  • we are working on several developments projects for children with special needs (like dyslexia) and creating AI tools;
  • expansion follows the funding available such as Horizon Europe but also other funding projects in the world (US, Saudi);
  • the fundamentals of the company are still here and we have shown our guidance to investors and believe that we will achieve our guidance;
  • while preparing for the large AI Labs project in Poland we are looking in gathering “low-hanging fruits” such as RAP in Poland and PNRAS 2 (school dropout) in Romania and other projects in Moldova;
  • a 3PO project with Lenovo ensures our products are presented in the Lenovo ecosystem and channels with the help of our partner ChannelTools – this is how we become a supplier of Lenovo, not just a distributor;
  • the summer will be very busy for us as deliveries intensify given that the kids are on vacation and this allows schools to accommodate the deployment of the labs.
