A Rugby man who struggled to find work, says disability charity Shaw Trust is to thank for helping him get a job.

Kieren Brown, 30, has Cerebral Palsy. He joined Work Choice, the Government programme aimed at helping people with learning, mental health or physical disabilities get back into work in 2011. Shaw Trust is the lead provider of Work Choice across the UK

Kieren received one to one support in his search for a job, as well as training in interview skills, IT and CV writing. Supported by his advisor Michelle Bayliss at every step of the way, Kieren was thrilled when he got a job with local company Swann Systems, as Administrator and Marketing Assistant.

Keiren says: "I felt like there was no easy way into work, and I needed support to get a job. I am really pleased that I have the opportunity to work again through Shaw Trust".

Sheila Bell, Proprietor at Swann Systems says: "I found Keiren's advisor Michelle excellent in her explanation of the service Shaw Trust offer. She found a candidate for us who fitted our job criteria well. She was always there in the background making sure we were ok"

Shaw Trust works with employers across the UK and helps 70,000 people a year gain new skills and enter work. Research commissioned by the Trust shows that 70% of disabled people in the West Midlands are workless, with disabled people being almost twice as likely to be unemployed as non-disabled people.
