Shaylor Group's South West office further cements their on-going relationship with Cornwall Council with two new prestigious contracts.

The projects, located in Bodmin and Newquay, were awarded under the Capital Projects Delivery Framework, bringing the total number of projects awarded to the South West office since the Framework started operating early last year to 8. They have also worked on a number of local projects outside of the Framework including projects in Bristol, Somerset, Plymouth and Devon covering a variety of works ranging from external roof repairs to internal office fit-outs.

The Bodmin project involves the design and construction of 9 dwellings (4 flats and 5 houses) for Cornwall Housing. This is the first major capital build project that Cornwall Housing has released through the framework. The Newquay Harbour scheme involves the construction of new fisherman’s stores and offices with associated quay improvement works including additional davits/cranes, railings and barriers and salt water pumps. The scheme has been aided by funding from the Marine Management Organisation which includes contributions from the European Fisheries Fund and the Government’s Costal Communities Fund.

South West Director, Dave Harwood, commented “These contracts are important wins for us, not only in terms of advancing our visibility in the region but also by generating over £5m turnover for our South West operation. Having completed a number of projects previously for Cornwall Council, we are delighted with their confidence in our service and quality of our product. We look forward to a continued fruitful relationship”.
