ADDING UP THE YEARS
A gem from the Melton Mowbray branch of Duncan and Toplis – Dennis Lowe – celebrated 40 years with the firm by receiving a ruby and gold pin badge.
He marked the milestone alongside three other colleagues: Managing Partner Peter Townsend and Barbara Armstrong from the Grantham office and Catherine Smith from the Spalding office.
The colleagues were taken to the Crown Hotel in Stamford for a special celebratory lunch as well as receiving the rubies. Between them they have gained over 168 years experience at the firm and were keen to share their gems of wisdom.
Duncan and Toplis Deputy Managing Partner Adrian Reynolds said he was delighted to be celebrating these achievements.
“The firm prides itself on maintaining colleague satisfaction, and the fact that we have colleagues who have grown with the firm during the past four decades is testament to our success in this area,” he said.
When they first began working for Duncan and Toplis 40 years ago things were very different. Dennis said one of the biggest changes has been the introduction of computers.
“When I started we hardly had calculators and everything was recorded in ledgers, but not have taken over and the whole way of working has changed and I must say it is for the better,” he said.
