Lincolnshire signmaker and vehicle livery specialist Allen Signs has travelled from Lands End to John O’Groats as part of a major rebranding project for one of the country’s leading providers of agricultural services.

Masstock and United Agri Products (UAP) joined forces to become Agrii earlier this year with the aim of delivering a new level of support and technology to farmers nationwide.

The new identity was unveiled in January following many months of consultation with staff and customers, and as part of the rebranding exercise Allen Signs in North Hykeham, Lincoln was appointed to livery the company’s fleet of 150 vehicles.

Owing to the seasonal nature Agrii’s business it was essential that all works on the fleet were completed on time. Allen Signs worked closely with the client and Cheltenham branding agency ASHA to finalise the vehicle livery design.

Managing Director David Allen explained: “The fleet comprised a diverse range of makes and models so we had to test the livery guidelines on all the various shapes and sizes of vehicles and ensure we could get hold of sufficient amounts of vinyl in the colours required.

“Once the format was established we had to develop a schedule of works from an initial list of 35 plus branches which had suitable facilities for our teams to work in. We managed to whittle this list down to 17 sites by finding a central location in each area which could be easily accessed by the surrounding branches.

“It was then a matter of making sure the vehicles were in the right place at the right time and I’m pleased to say it all ran like clockwork!”

Head of Marketing and Communications at Agrii Mark Thomas, who is based as the company’s head office in Andoversford, Cheltenham, said he appointed Allen Signs as he was impressed by their track record.

“We had an existing relationship with Allen Signs as they had done some work for our former Masstock site in Bracebridge Heath near Lincoln and we trusted David and his team to be able to get on with the job in a way that minimised inconvenience to the business,” said Mark.

“We had a set of guidelines for our new corporate identity, but Allen Signs were able to adapt these across a range of different vehicles and did a lot of the leg work in terms of organisation. We were really pleased with the way they handled the project and the quality of their workmanship.”
