Beatson Clark and Rawlings Deliver New Coffee Jars in an Instant
News release
27th June 2012
When premium coffee producer Little’s needed to source a new jar for its range of flavoured instant coffees glass manufacturer Beatson Clark was able to step in with a new lightweighted jar at a competitive price.
The family-run Devon-based speciality coffee roaster had been experiencing difficulties with its European supplier and was looking for a UK manufacturer to provide glass containers for its instant coffees.
Little’s were working closely with independent packaging specialist Rawlings to guide them through the jar manufacturing process and Rotherham-based Beatson Clark was able to provide the premium solution. It was a bespoke, high-quality, low-cost product which appealed to Little’s in part because it was lighter than the jar they had previously used.
“The Beatson Clark solution ticked all the boxes for Little’s quality brand and the speed to production has been incredible” said Thomas Wood, Managing Director at Rawlings.
“Our main focus was consistent supply,” said Will Little.
“We wanted to use a UK manufacturer and we were really impressed with both how competitive the price was and the quality of the product. Our coffees are at the premium end of the market and the quality of the packaging is very important to us.
“We really liked the lightweight option for our jar too, and the cost and environmental benefits that this brings.”
“Beatson Clark and Rawlings really pulled their weight and helped us get out of a tight and potentially damaging spot as a business,” added Will. “It shows that both companies are focused on customer service which goes above and beyond simply making the sale.”
Little’s range of nine flavoured instant coffees are made from 100% pure Arabica beans and include flavours such as Rich Hazelnut, French Vanilla and Spicy Cardamom.
The company also produces a range of premium instant coffees which features Kenyan, Colombian, Italian Roast and Decaffeinated.
“The lead time from initial enquiry to production was just four months, so this has been a very quick turnaround,” said Charlotte Taylor, Marketing Manager at Beatson Clark.
“It was essential that we were able to guarantee continuity of supply so we have worked very closely with Little’s, responded very quickly and tried to be as flexible as possible in order to produce the jars on time.”
