5th October 2012

Eleven major organisations will hold workshops aimed at helping businesses to grow at a free event in Lincoln next month.

The University of Lincoln will deliver a session focused on creative thinking, Streets Chartered Accountants will offer advice on how to manage your balance sheet and the Lincolnshire Echo will talk about the role the local media plays for local firms at the Building a Better Business event at Lincoln College on 1st November.

National big hitters include UK Trade and Investment, which will offer advice on exporting products overseas and Barclays Bank.

The event is aimed at arming established businesses with the skills to grow and develop in a challenging economy. It is being organised by the Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with Lincolnshire County Council, accountancy firm Streets, Lincoln College, Ruddocks and Shooting Star PR.

Simon Beardsley, Chief Executive of the Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “We have a very high calibre of businesses and organisations on hand to offer invaluable advice – this is one for businesses not to miss.

“Many of the experts delivering workshops are right on the doorstep, so they know the local market well, but we also have people from outside the county to offer insight into doing business further afield.

“One great thing about the event is the flexibility as delegates can pick and choose the elements they want to participate in so they won’t be forced to spend a whole day away from the office.

“However, there will be so much useful advice on offer that many delegates will want to stay for the whole day and we would actively encourage them to do so.”

Guest speaker Paul Barron CBE Consultant, will be explaining how to turn possibilities into reality and the

journey to becoming an extraordinary and successful business. A complimentary lunch is included. By the end of the day it is hoped that delegates will have learned some new skills and new strategies which will help them to move their business forward in future.

There is also space for up to 30 Lincolnshire businesses to have a stall at the event for just £50 + VAT.

The event is on between 9.15am and 4.15pm.To book your free place or reserve a stand, call Natasha Clegg on 01522 846920 or email natasha.clegg@lincc-chamber.co.uk
