Bumper Number of Job Applicants for New Care Home
News release
8th May 2012
More than 400 people have applied for 20 jobs on offer at a new care home being built in Scunthorpe.
Directors from Kapil Care Homes say they received a bumper amount of calls and emails from people requesting application forms to work at Balmoral House on Old Brumby Street, after advertising for new staff for just two weeks.
As a result, the firm is no longer taking new applications and will cease advertising the posts.
The home expected to be completed by July. And will be the third property owned and managed by the firm, which also runs Carisbrooke Manor and Ascot House in the town.
Managing Director Sunil Kapil said: “It’s great that we’ve had such a good response to our job adverts and it now means we’ve got a good choice of candidates to choose from; we’re just sorry we’re not going to be able to employ everyone.
“It is encouraging to see that so many people are keen to work at our new home. They will all go through comprehensive training ahead of the doors opening to build on their existing skills. We look forward to getting under way with the interviews and welcoming the new staff to our team.”
The jobs advertised were the first round of recruitment for the new 60-bed care home. Eventually, the state-of-the art home will employ 60 people.
