Charity Chippy Quiz Raises Cash For Families
News Release
17th December 2013
More families have received support from a Lincolnshire charity thanks to a successful fundraising event organised by Shooting Star PR.
A total of £667 was raised for The Ally Cadence Trust, the PR agency’s Charity of the Year 2013, at a quiz night hosted by Lincoln’s award winning Burton Road Chippy in November.
The Ally Cadence Trust supports babies and their families after the diagnosis of Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type 1. The genetic disorder mostly affects babies and toddlers and is usually fatal, with a life expectancy of up to two years.
“This year has been our busiest yet and we have already supported 18 families across the UK,” said Emma Humphries founder of ACT for SMA.
“Thanks to the generosity of everyone and the support from Shooting Star PR and Burton Road Chippy, we raised enough money to help even more people affected by Spinal Muscular Atrophy."
“We were delighted that the event was a sell out and raised more funds for The Ally Cadence Trust,” said Jez Ashberry, Director of Shooting Star PR.
“The quiz was so successful that we are planning to make it an annual event. We are now looking for our 2014 Charity of the Year and look forward to hearing from charities who could benefit from free PR for a year.”
Des Anastasiou, owner of Burton Road Chippy, also commented: “We were happy to work with Shooting Star PR and host their Quiz, Chips and Mushy Peas night in support of The Ally Cadence Trust. We try to support local charities wherever possible as they do brilliant work to help the lives of others.”
If you would like to nominate your charity send an email to hello@shootingstar-pr.co.uk explaining why you think your charity would benefit from a year’s free PR.
