Christmas is Coming at The Old Station Nursery
News release
06 December 2013
Making time for a bit of Christmas shopping while the little ones are entertained is not always an easy task.
But the Old Station Nursery in Henley is offering a chance to do just that when it hosts an open day with a difference at its woodland setting on Friday 13th December.
The nursery, which opened in January, will host a Christmas Fair between 3pm and 5pm, giving parents the chance to pick up treats while their children try out Christmas-themed activities.
Nursery manager Julie Crake said: “We had planned to do an open afternoon in December to show what we have to offer as a nursery, so we thought we would do something a bit different from just inviting parents and children to look round.
“We’ll have a range of activities for children to get involved in, as well as some great shopping opportunities and a few treats for mum and dad. We cater for children aged five and under so we have lots of activities for that age range planned, but we’d love to welcome whole families.
“The children will also have the chance to meet Santa and get an early Christmas present at the fair!”
Youngsters will be able to try Christmas craft activities such as decorating biscuits, making Christmas decorations and playing with glittery play dough, while the parents can tuck into a complimentary glass of mulled wine and a mince pie. Local businesses selling goods will include Phoenix Trading, which sells greeting cards and stationery, independent stylist Suzanna Scott from jewellery company Stella and Dot, and beauty products business Forever Living.
In January the Old Station Nursery Group took over Orchard Farm Day Nursery in Henley, which operated for eight years at the site. Based in a rural setting on the edge of Henley, it is surrounded by fields and woodland and offers a Forest School to children attending.
