Coconuts to Take Part in World’s Biggest Coffee Morning

A nationwide appeal to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support will bring Barry’s cake lovers and coffee nuts to Coconuts Play & Party Centre for a fun packed morning.
The fundraiser, which is part of a wider national event, will aim to raise money for Macmillan nurses.
‘The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ will see businesses across the country open their doors to the public, with coffee mornings taking place nationwide on the morning of Friday 27th September.
Coconuts Play and Party Centre in Barry will be hosting its own event between 10am and 2pm and with the support of several local businesses will provide a wide array of treats including waffles, lemon loaf and more traditional cakes.
“Macmillan’s nurses are there to provide support every step of the way when someone is diagnosed with cancer,” said organiser Joanne Boyd. “Our coffee morning will be a great opportunity to ensure that they can continue their work.”
Coconuts Play and Party Centre features soft play areas and climbing frames which offer a perfect environment for children to run and play while parents can wind down in the café area.
“Holding a coffee morning is a new and exciting prospect for us, so we are delighted to welcome visitors to relax in our café while they enjoy their coffee and cake.”
Several local businesses have donated prizes for free and organisers were keen to thank sponsors including The Dolphin Bar, Hallicakes Home Bakery and The Crafty Kitchen for their support.
Entry is £1 per adult and £3.95 per child with all adult ticket proceeds going to Macmillan.
Guests will be invited to participate in a variety of other activities and competitions including a ‘coffee bean challenge’, a kids’ colouring competition and the chance to win a large decorative cake.
