With just over six weeks to go there’s still time to book your place at this year’s Childcare Expo in September.

The event, which takes place on 16th and 17th September at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry, brings together childcare experts, suppliers and practitioners working in the early years sector under one roof.

Patrick Leeson, Director of Development, Education and Care for Ofsted, will launch this year’s event by delivering the opening seminar examining the challenges for the future delivery of the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) and the proposals for inspection and improvement.

A varied seminar programme featuring a wealth of influential and high-profile figures from the industry will take place during the two-day event.

Other speakers joining Patrick include Deslynne Roberts, Areté Consultancy, Courtney Donaldson, Christie and Co and Jo Baranek from NDNA.

Highlights of the expo include a wide range of exhibitors, free workshops and a chance to win £500 worth of childcare insurance from show sponsors Morton Michel for anyone who registers online and attends the show.

A stimulating outdoor learning zone – Early Years Outdoors: Magical Journeys – created by UK charity Learning Through Landscapes and early years supplier TTS will help early years professionals make the most of outside areas.

The space will showcase a range of ideas for outdoor play and learning to inspire early years practitioners and send them away with practical, affordable ideas for improving the quality of outdoor play at their own settings.

Event Director Emma Barrett of Broadway Events can’t wait for the show to start. “There’s been a fantastic response to this year’s Childcare Expo and we’re really pleased with what we’ve got to offer,” she said.

“We’re extremely excited about the outdoor learning feature, workshops and the high-calibre speakers we have running seminars. The event is aimed at everyone who works with young children and this year we’re open on a Friday and a Saturday so everyone will have a chance to come along.”

Early years professionals can register online and attend Childcare Expo for free – visit www.childcareexpo.co.uk.
