DOUBLE HEADER FOR OLD STATION NURSERY AT TOP AWARDS
News release
24th October 2011
Staff at The Old Station Nursery Group are celebrating after two of their colleagues were shortlisted for awards in the prestigious Nursery Management Today Awards.
Louise Jenkins, Nursery Manager at the Filkins setting in Oxfordshire, has been shortlisted for Nursery Manager of the Year and Paula Leeson, who is based at the Wragby Road setting in Lincoln, has been shortlisted for Operations/Regional Manager of the Year.
Now in its ninth year, the awards recognise the achievements of staff working within the sector and celebrate excellence in childcare.
The winners will be announced at a gala awards presentation evening on Saturday 26th November at the Hilton Metropole Hotel in London.
Only five people are selected as finalists in each award category based on nominations and testimonials from colleagues, parents and employers.
Louise Jenkins said: “It was a real surprise to have been shortlisted for this award but it’s absolutely fantastic. I’m very proud to have been nominated and chosen as one of the final five.
“The gala dinner is going to be a really lovely evening and I’m looking forward to it. I’m feeling positive but whatever happens I’m just happy to have reached this stage.”
Paula Leeson added: “I was quite surprised to have been up for this award; it was a bit of a shock!
“It’s lovely really because I’ve been doing this for 16 years and to get that kind of recognition was great. I got to read the testimonials and to have that kind of feedback from our Managing Director Sarah Steel and my colleagues was amazing.
“Whatever the outcome is on the night that will be enough for me!”
Business brokers Redwoods Dowling Kerr are sponsoring the event.
