Duncan & Toplis, a leading independent East Midlands firm of chartered accountants, has won the Business Commitment to the Community Award at the Newark Business Awards 2011.
The award echoed last year’s success, when Duncan & Toplis picked up the Training and Staff Development Award.
Simon Shaw, a Duncan & Toplis partner based in Newark, said: “We are all very pleased to win this award. We see it as recognition of what our partners and staff have put back into the community in which we operate.”
As well as picking up the Business Commitment to the Community Award Duncan & Toplis was also nominated for the Innovation through Technology Award this year.
The award ceremony took place at Kelham Hall near Newark, where the guest speaker this year was Saira Khan. She is well known for her appearing on the BBC’s The Apprentice in 2005 and has since gone on to become a popular TV presenter and entrepreneur.
Not only did Duncan & Toplis win an award, the firm has supported the Newark Business Awards since their inception and this year sponsored the Excellence in Business category.
