News Release

19th December 2013

Pop star Peter Andre wouldn’t normally be associated with hen houses but that’s exactly what pregnant girlfriend Emily MacDonagh has bought him as an early Christmas present.

In the Christmas episode of  the reality TV series Peter Andre - My Life, which will be aired  on ITV2 at 9pm on Monday 23rd December, viewers will see Emily surprise Peter with his very own Henny Penny Hen House and three chickens.

"I absolutely love my ‘Lodge’ chicken coop from Henny Penny Hen Houses,” said Peter. “They hand-delivered it and made everything so easy. I can't thank them enough!"

Launched by former telecoms executive Penny Roberts, Henny Penny Hen Houses offers plush pads for pampered poultry which are handcrafted in Yorkshire using the highest quality materials.

“I was really surprised when I received the call from Peter’s management team explaining that Emily had seen our hen houses and loved them so much that she wanted to give one to her fiancé as an early Christmas present,” explained Penny.

“Emily has looked after chickens before so knows what to expect but they were both really excited about keeping their own chickens and having fresh eggs every day. I’m sure Peter, Emily and the children will get a lot of pleasure from their new additions to their family.”

Penny, who lives on a farm in Brandsby near York with her husband David and son Charlie, admits she was a bit starstruck when she met the pair: “It’s not every day you get to appear on the final ever episode of a popular reality TV series but they were both absolutely lovely and really put us at ease. I’m now looking forward to seeing one of our hen houses on the show!”

Built to last using slow-grown Forest Stewardship Council accredited Scandinavian Redwood timber, there are five different sized luxury chicken coops in the Henny Penny Hen Houses range, including the ‘Lodge’ which Emily chose for Peter.

All of the hen houses come fully assembled apart from The Chalet which is ideal for small spaces as it comes in an easy-to-assemble flat-pack form that takes less than 15 minutes to build!

Each Henny Penny Hen House has a unique build number which is displayed on a plaque above the door. Other trademark features include a natural thatched roof, attractive cottage-style windows, a large entry door for easy access and cleaning, lockable nesting boxes and an optional shelf ideal for a webcam or camcorder to capture those magical moments!

“Henny Penny Hen Houses are functionally efficient and a pleasure to be around,” explained Penny, “which means Peter and Emily won’t have to bang their head every time they clean their chicken coop out!”

Henny Penny Hen Houses make great Christmas presents for the whole family to enjoy and are available to order online from www.hennypennyhenhouses.co.uk. Prices start from £445 and all come with a multi-year warranty and a 30-day money-back guarantee.
