Emma's in line for top event industry award

The organiser of the leading early years exhibition Childcare Expo could be named as the UK’s number one event director next week.
Emma Barrett of Broadway Events in Hampshire has been nominated in the Best Event Director category of the 2011 Exhibition News Awards.
She will find out on Friday 20th May whether she has won the coveted award.
“I’m delighted to have been recognised in this way just two years after setting up my company, Broadway Events,” said Emma.
“It’s a very great honour to be nominated alongside some of the industry’s leading figures and I’m really looking forward to attending the awards ceremony.”
Childcare Expo made its debut last year and will be staged again at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry on 16th and 17th September 2011.
This year Emma built on the success of Childcare Expo by launching a series of Care Roadshows for healthcare professionals in locations across the UK.
Emma has been named on a shortlist of five nominees seletced by a panel of exhibition industry experts hand-picked by the monthly magazine Exhibition News.
“I’m pleased to see such a high calibre of companies and individuals represented in our finalists’ list this year,” said Nadia Cameron, Managing Editor of Exhibition News.
“Competition for this year’s awards was incredibly fierce and our judges had a challenging job choosing among so many strong candidates.
“The diversity of organisers, venues and suppliers represented by the finalists in 2011 demonstrates the increasing importance of our awards to the exhibition industry.”
The fifth annual Exhibition News Awards will take place at the Business Design Centre in Islington on 20th May 2011.

- Kate Chambers – Clarion
- Susan Johnson – QD Events
Other awards up for grabs include Best Venue, Best Consumer Show and Best Designer.
