News release

5th July 2012

A Lincolnshire software developer whose app was chosen to feature in an advert for Apple is giving a talk about developing apps for the gaming industry as part of a new campaign for superfast broadband.

This month there will be four seminars aimed at digital businesses on the subject of mobile apps and cloud computing. The next event will take place at Boston Enterprise Centre on Wednesday 11th July from 6pm until 9pm.

This seminar will be led by Tracy Muir from Limelight Software, based in Scunthorpe, who will talk about developing apps for the gaming industry.

Limelight Software’s StompBox iPad app was chosen to feature in the new iPad2 commercial. Stompbox transforms the iPad into a digital effects unit, enabling guitarists to create professional sounding stereo effects.

Angela Driver, Principal Development Officer for Online Revolution at Lincolnshire County Council, commented: “We’re really excited to be able to offer Lincolnshire businesses free advice and support and we hope lots of firms take up this offer.

“The next event taking place in Boston is a great chance for businesses to get involved and gain valuable insights from an expert in their field.”

Online Revolution aims to raise awareness of the potential of superfast broadband and stimulate demand for the service in the project’s three target areas: Lincoln, Boston and East Lindsey.

As part of the wider OnLincolnshire campaign to improve superfast broadband across the county, Online Revolution is offering free advice to help small businesses make the most of the Internet.

Through the Lincolnshire Digital Business Cluster small companies in Lincoln, East Lindsey and Boston which sell digital products and services are eligible for up to 12 hours of free business support through the Lincolnshire Digital Business Cluster programme.

Online Revolution is a project funded by the East Midlands European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and managed via Lincolnshire County Council.
