24th July 2012

Paper packaging and printing specialist Forum Packaging has invested more than £1 million in buildings, machinery and supply chain improvements since a management buy-out last year.

The latest arrival at the Lincolnshire company is a new fleet of three 44-tonne side trailers which will be used for transporting paper sack packaging and Forum’s new Minipak bags for the retail flour industry.

The trailers have been manufactured and liveried by Don-Bur near Stoke on Trent at a cost of around £150,000 and are an addition to the fleet of vehicles provided for Forum Packaging by Bibby Distribution.

The vehicles arrived at the firm’s Horncastle headquarters last week and went into service yesterday (Monday 23rd July).

“We’re extremely pleased with the look and feel of the new trailer units,” said Forum Packaging’s Managing Director Mark Spivey. “They show that Forum Packaging is committed to improving and investing in the business to benefit our growing list of new customers.

“The expansion of our fleet underlines our original commitment when we took this business over last year to invest consistently. Since the successful management buyout from D S Smith plc. more than £1 million has been invested to improve business operations, and we are very proud of the company's achievements to date.”

Forum Packaging manufactures paper sacks and bags for a range of business sectors including food, animal feed, pet food, chemicals and building materials. It also provides flexo pre-print and flexo laminate for the European corrugated industry.

It is an award winning flexo printer and recently achieved multiple golds at the annual EFIA (European Flexographic Industry Association) Awards.
