Lincoln’s newest nightspot The Electric Bar & Restaurant will be turning on the glitz and the glamour for a glittering launch party.
Well known celebrities including TV presenter Gethin Jones along with local VIPs and business owners will officially toast the opening of The Electric Bar & Restaurant on Brayford Wharf North at the invite-only event on Friday 2ndMarch.
Since opening in December 2011, the venue has already made a name for itself as one of the top night spots in the city. Based on the fifth floor of the DoubleTree by Hilton Lincoln, it enjoys panoramic views of Lincoln Cathedral and the south of the city looking out across Brayford Pool.
The bar and restaurant have a luxurious and intimate feel and diners can even watch Head Chef Alec Maxfield and his team cooking up a storm in the kitchen through a large viewing gallery.
Alec previously worked at Michelin-starred restaurants Hambleton Hall and The Fat Duck while Head Barman Andy Hallam mastered the art of mixology whilst working at Harvey Nichols’ Fourth Floor Bar in Leeds.
“Our aim has always been to raise the bar for the quality of service and provision in Lincoln and we’ve done that literally by locating The Electric Bar & Restaurant on the top floor of the hotel,” explained Andy.
“We’ve also developed a sophisticated cocktail menu and an extensive wine list which have helped to establish the bar as one of the city’s night-time hotspots.”
Restaurant Manager Dan Ralley added: “Since we opened we’ve received some fantastic feedback from visitors who’ve been blown away by Alec’s innovative style of cooking.
“Even the ride up to the fifth floor in the express panoramic glass elevator is a unique and memorable experience and gives people a taste of what we have to offer. It’s certainly been a talking point among guests!”
As well as samples from Alec’s mouthwatering menu, which includes dishes such as roast loin of venison with smoked bacon, caramelised pineapple, buttered spinach, gin & tonic jelly, glazed baby turnips and a light port jus and iced peanut butter parfait with caramelised banana and peanut brittle, guests will be treated to drinks in the bar and live entertainment.
