Hundreds Apply to Work at City’s First Four-Star Hotel
LINCOLN, UK – 5th July 2011 – Despite minimal advertising The DoubleTree by Hilton Lincoln Hotel, due to open in November 2011, has received over 300 job applications.
Brayford Hotels, the company behind the development on Brayford Wharf North in Lincoln, will be creating 70 new jobs in the city and is now selecting candidates for interview.
In June the company made the first appointments to its Senior Management Team including General Manager Philip Walker and Sales and Marketing Manager Nicola Shepheard.
As well as part-time and full-time waiting and bar staff there are several managerial vacancies including Financial Controller, Lounge Manager, Restaurant Manager and Events Manager.
Philip said they have been overwhelmed by the response from applicants so far.
“The only adverts Brayford Hotels placed were for my job and for Head Chef which received 60 applications alone. We’ve been inundated with CVs, however, including over 80 from students at the University of Lincoln looking for part-time work to help fund their studies,” said Philip.
“It’s our goal to deliver outstanding service at all times so it’s vital we get the right team in place. Although previous experience of the service industry would be ideal we’re looking for candidates with the right personality who can help us to maintain the exceptionally high standards the Hilton brand has become famous for.
“It’s an exciting time as the hotel is really starting to take shape and we’ve already received a lot of enquiries from individuals and companies wanting to make a booking.”
When finished the contemporary and aspirational four-star hotel will offer 115 well appointed modern and spacious guest rooms with over 500 square metres of flexible meeting and events space.
Of the 115 rooms, 17 will be studio suites each with a balcony and views of the Brayford Pool or the famous Lincoln Cathedral.
The hotel will also boast an on-site gym and a rooftop bar and restaurant, accessed by a panoramic feature lift on the front of the hotel, with outside areas offering spectacular views across the south of the city.
