LEADERSHIP DAY FOR OLD STATION NURSERY
News release
4th May 2012
A leading childcare company which grew from one nursery to 13 settings across the UK in less than a decade is to celebrate its 10th anniversary this month.
Staff from The Old Station Nursery group, which has settings across Lincolnshire, Oxfordshire, Nottinghamshire, Yorkshire and Gloucestershire, will kick off celebrations on Saturday 19th May with their first ever Leadership Day headed up by Managing Director Sarah Steel.
The aim of the staff-only event, to be held at The Trident Centre in Warwick, is to say a big thank-you to employees ranging from managers to support staff and give them a chance to meet people from other areas of the business and swap childcare tips.
The Old Station Nursery was founded in a former railway station in Faringdon, Oxfordshire in July 2002 when Sarah found it difficult to find childcare for her two young children after she left the army.
She said: “It has been an exciting and eventful 10 years so far and we are looking forward to continuing to develop and improve as we move into our second decade. The birthday celebrations are a great opportunity to get our team together from all around the country to network, share tips and celebrate.
“This will be the first time that the whole company has been invited to get together to hear an update from me as well as contributions from other industry speakers and take part in team building activities. I think we’ll all leave feeling energised about the future and proud of what we’ve achieved so far.”
Keynote speaker Sue Atkins, parenting expert and author of Raising Children for Dummies, will give a talk on childcare during the event. And each of the 13 settings, which include 11 nurseries, an after-school club and a crèche, will get to honour a ‘rising star’ who will receive an award.
The day will be rounded off with everyone tucking into a very large train-shaped birthday cake based on the design of the company’s logo.
