The Lincolnshire branch of The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) is celebrating 100 years of marketing with O at its Annual President’s Dinner in February 2012.

The event will take place on Thursday 16th February 2012 at Hemswell Court in Lincolnshire to mark the 100th anniversary of the leading international professional marketing body representing 41,000 marketers worldwide.

Since its creation 100 years ago the CIM has grown and developed to become the global guardian of best marketing practice, promoting the power of marketing and its positive contribution to both current and future business performance.

The guest speaker at the event will be Amanda Clay who is Head of Brand Management at Telefonica Europe plc which owns O₂ in Europe.

Amanda started her career at Timberland and IBM before moving to The Netherlands where she set up a centralised global marketing team working across Europe, North America and Asia Pacific.

Amanda then joined O₂ in 2002 and among other things was responsible for leading the largest brand launch in Czech Republic history. Four organisations – Cesky Telecom, Eurotel, Telefonica and O₂ – were merged into one fully converged business, offering mobile, fixed, Internet and Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) which was a European first.

Amanda’s current role has seen her successfully lead one of the biggest internal rebrand and cultural change projects in Europe where she won Gold for the Best Digital Employee Communications at the 2011 Digital Impact Awards and the Best Change Communication Campaign at the 2011 European Excellence Awards.

Looking forward to the event Amanda commented: “As a Chartered Marketer I’m proud to help celebrate 100 years of marketing with the CIM. It’s an extraordinary testament to the talent and commitment of the team that the CIM continues to go from strength to strength globally.”

On the night Amanda will be sharing an insight into the world of O₂ and talking about how brands create emotional engagement in their communications with reference to other major brands.

Talking about the upcoming event, Keith Barlow, Regional Director for the East Midlands branch of the CIM, commented: “The Annual President’s Dinner is the most prestigious event in the Lincolnshire business calendar. It is a celebration of the continuing success of the local branch and this year the dinner marks 100 years of The Charted Institute of Marketing.”

Don’t miss out on your chance to join the CIM for a black tie dinner, an entertaining and insightful speaker and networking opportunities with fellow marketers and business professionals.
