Rising RnB star Lewis ‘LP’ Planter will be in Lincoln on Saturday (21st May) to promote the launch of his new music video which was filmed in the city.

The video, filmed on location at Christopher’s on Newland and outside the Usher Gallery, was produced by Lincoln-based events, promotional and modelling agency Events23 in collaboration with Christian Moles and Twist3d.

Directed by University of Lincoln graduate Christian Moles and shot by Adrian Samarra from Adrian Samarra Productions, also based in Lincoln, the video is for Lewis’ latest song Name and Number and has a 1950s big band feel.

Managing Director of Events23 Paul Mutagejja, who also provided actors for the shoot, said: “We were delighted to be asked by Christian to work on collaboration on this project along with Twist3d and Adrian Samarra.

“It was a really enjoyable shoot for everybody involved who had a lot of fun sourcing 1950s costumes and props to make the video look as authentic as possible. It’s also good promotion for the city and we would like to thanks Christopher’s for providing the location and vintage shop Ego for supplying the costumes.”

Singer/songwriter, producer and artist Lewis grew up in the hills of St Elizabeth, Jamaica and is currently studying sound engineering at Birmingham City University.

Name and Number was originally released back in August 2010 and featured on prolific Jamaican label Don Corleone Records' compilation album Major and Minor Riddim. It will be re-released to coincide with the launch of the video.

Commenting on the video, Lewis said: “I am over the moon at the production quality and professionalism of the project and I would relish the opportunity to work with the team again.

“My music is a representation of my life and my intention is to spearhead a revival of meaningful music quite similar to the eras of the past.

“As co-executive producers Events23 provided exquisite creative ideas for the video, management services, actors and models while Christian and Adrian managed to transform the very detailed storyboard created by Twist3d and Christian into a modern-day classic.”

The video took four days to film and a two-month post production to make and according to Adrian it’s a testament to all the hard work and preparation that was put in prior to the shoot.

“We hope that when people watch the video they’ll appreciate the time and effort that went in to making it as believable as possible,” he said. “Events23 played a big part in organising this shoot and working with them was a pleasure.”

Paul Sinclair from Twist3d added: “Lincoln is developing nicely as a creative hub in the region and this project helped to bring a lot of talented individuals together.

“Working on a music video gave me the opportunity to use my drawing skills to help visualise our ideas through storyboards. The team worked really well and I hope to be able to collaborate on similar projects with them in the future.”

Christian Moles said: “I was very pleased with finished article. The project was a great chance to showcase my skills and work with along side other talented professionals here in Lincoln.”
