News Release

22nd April 2013

A leading Lincolnshire public relations agency has drafted in a new account manager after recently taking on four new clients.

Lincoln-based Shooting Star PR has employed Cesca Bickley, a former member of the Interflora British Unit marketing team, as its newest account manager.

Launched in 2006, the agency is ever-expanding and major clients now include the UK’s largest school milk supplier Cool Milk and Rotherham-based glass packaging manufacturer Beatson Clark.

Cesca will have responsibility for her own group of clients, writing and distributing press releases, developing PR campaigns, advising on marketing practices, managing social media, and building strong relationships with media contacts. She will also be responsible for bringing in new business.

Cesca, 25, said: “This new step in my career is a truly exciting one for me. Having worked for a large retail company, I have experience in many areas of in-house marketing and I am truly looking forward to using my skills to both aid Shooting Star PR’s clients in their corporate endeavours and also help the agency in bringing in new business.”

Cesca moved to Lincoln from Weston in Nottinghamshire in 2007 to study for a degree in Advertising and Public Relations. Graduating in 2010, she moved straight into the world of marketing, working for Interflora British Unit at its head office in Sleaford.

Her time at the company included managing online and affiliate activity for the company’s recently acquired portfolio brands, developing and producing direct mail and email communications – as well as acting as lead copywriter.

She also co-managed press and PR for the two portfolio brands, as well as acting as account manager for the company’s extensive list of corporate clients. She will use these skills to help directors Jez Ashberry and Kate Strawson to further build the client base for the agency.

“We had some very impressive applicants for this role but Cesca’s was outstanding, and we were delighted when she accepted the job,” said Jez Ashberry, Director of Shooting Star PR.

“Because we’re taking on new clients all the time we needed someone with talent and experience to handle our accounts. Cesca also has a strong track record of business development and she will be taking a lead role in bringing in new clients as we continue to grow.”
