Two new faces have arrived at Daisy Day Nursery in Barry, and a familiar face has returned!

The nursery in Barry has taken on Becki Collins and Hannah Fisher-Davies as nursery assistants, while Joanne Twinney has returned to work at the setting following maternity leave.

Becki (26) is a mum of one who has worked with children for more than nine years. She has an NVQ level three qualification in Children’s Care, Learning and Development and is also studying towards her level 5.

“I’m really thrilled to be a part of the team,” said Becki, who is mostly working in the Bumble Bees room at Barry. “It’s fab and I feel like I’ve settled in well – all the children already know my name.”

Hannah (22) is working as a supply member of staff and will look after all age groups at the nursery.

“I’m settling in really well,” said Hannah, who holds a CACHE level two certificate in play work and is about to start her level three in child care. “I love how friendly the staff are and how welcome I was made to feel when I first started.”

She has done voluntary work as a scout leader for six years, and when she’s not busy scouting she teaches life safety skills and basic CPR for Heartstart in the Vale of Glamorgan.

Joanne Twinney is a mother of three girls and is returning to the Barry Daisy Day Centre after being away on maternity leave.

“My passion for mothering spills over into my job role,” said Joanne, who is mostly working in the Butterflies room in Barry.

Megan Roach, Deputy Manager at Daisy Day Nursery in Barry, was pleased to welcome all three to her team. “It will be fantastic to have Jo back with us and we’re really happy to welcome Becki and Hannah here,” she said.

“They have already shown themselves to be great additions to our wonderful team.”
