6th December 2013

The Skegness office of leading chartered accountants Duncan & Toplis has a new man at the helm.

Paul McCooey, a Director at the practice who has been based for the past six years in the firm’s Newark office, has been appointed to head up the Skegness office.

He takes the reins from John Chappelle, who has left the firm after 20 years to pursue other interests.

“We will continue to build close relationships with our clients to understand their needs and what’s important to them,” said Paul, who was also previously a partner in a tax practice in Ireland and enjoys looking for tax saving opportunities for his clients.

“Our small business team has streamlined its approach to accounts and tax return work to enable us to provide a service to our clients that offers remarkable value.

“Meanwhile the team that deals with larger businesses has all the necessary expertise to cover the areas of interest to our larger clients including, amongst others, financing, tax planning, mergers and acquisitions and exit planning.

“It is my belief that there is nothing too big or small that we can do to help local businesses. We have superb teams in place to assist with all shapes and sizes of business.”

Adrian Reynolds, Managing Partner of Duncan & Toplis, said: “Paul has a great deal of experience and we know that he will build on the excellent reputation that Duncan & Toplis enjoys.”

The Skegness office of Duncan & Toplis employs 19 staff and has particular expertise in the leisure sector and advising family businesses.

Alongside taxation and accountancy services the Skegness office also offers auditing for larger corporate clients, financial planning through Castlegate Financial Management and IT services through Datcom.

Damon Brain, the partner who heads up the Lincoln office of Duncan & Toplis, now leads the audit services provided at the Skegness office.
