New Manager for Shooting Star PR

A leading public relations agency has drafted in a new manager to cope with demand after taking on eight new clients in just six months.
Former Lincolnshire Echo senior reporter Cerri Delaney has been taken on by Lincoln-based Shooting Star PR to work as an account manager for the expanding firm.
Major clients now using the agency, which was launched in 2006, include Bishop Grosseteste University College Lincoln, civil engineers Waldeck and glass packaging company Beatson Clark.
Cerri will be responsible for her own bank of clients, developing PR campaigns, writing and distributing news items, handling and managing media enquiries, managing social media and building strong relationships with national, trade and regional media including online, broadcast and print.
Cerri, 30, said: “This new job is an exciting step in my career and one I am already getting my teeth into. I’m fortunate to have received a good grounding in journalism from the Lincolnshire Echo, which I believe is a key skill for people working in public relations. That experience means I’m confident about helping this growing firm realise its potential.”
Cerri came to Lincoln in September 2000 to study for a BA (Hons) in Media Production. After graduating she spent several years working in the hospitality industry as a restaurant shift manager and waiter trainer before joining the Lincolnshire Echo in 2006.
Her time at the paper included working on several key portfolios including health, local authority and defence. That experience and bank of contacts will now be used to help the agency’s directors Jez Ashberry and Kate Strawson grow the business.
