News release

23rd July 2012

A new website has been launched to spread the word about the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP).

The site at www.greaterlincolnshirelep.co.uk went live this week to keep people and businesses in Greater Lincolnshire updated about the work of the LEP.

The Greater Lincolnshire LEP was one of 39 LEPs set up across England in 2010 following the abolition of the regional development agencies.

Bringing together public and private sector leaders, its role is to work to improve infrastructure and conditions for business in Lincolnshire, North Lincolnshire and North-East Lincolnshire.

“We have already achieved a number of significant successes and our new website will help us to communicate these to people and businesses across the region,” said Ursula Lidbetter, Chair of the Greater Lincolnshire LEP.

“The site will also make it easier for everyone who has a stake in the Greater Lincolnshire economy to engage with us, tell us their views and get involved.”

As well as latest news, information about how the LEP operates and advice on new funding streams available to businesses in Greater Lincolnshire, the site also features a questionnaire, a sign-up form for the LEP newsletter and links to the LEP on social media such as Twitter and Linkedin.

The website itself is a home-grown product: it was designed and built by Optima Design in Lincoln and content was provided by Lincoln-based agency Shooting Star PR.

One of the first LEPs to be established in the UK, the Greater Lincolnshire LEP covers a large geographical area with a population of over one million and a diverse range of industries, from ports and logistics to farming, tourism and engineering.

It includes North and North-East Lincolnshire and is controlled by a LEP board made up of leading figures in the public and private sector.
